Every January for the past decade I have handed out awards for horrible use of language in business. Usually the task amuses me. This year I have found the sheer weight of euphemism, grammatical infelicity, disingenuity and downright ugliness so lowering I have decided to start the 2016 Golden Flannel Awards with something more uplifting: a prize for clarity.

Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman accepted the statue for their work on the Clint Eastwood-directed film. They’re two-time Oscar winners and beat out several other top-tier candidates for the award, including Becky Sullivan and Andrew DeCristofaro for “Unbroken,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

But even that humble nod didn’t go over well with some at the ceremony. Twitchy.com reported that some views of the show noticed one actor — Jason Bateman — who seems to snub “American Sniper.”

10.I thought I already sent that email out. I’m sure I did. – Because telling you that it was a low priority and I forgot would probably hurt our relationship。

Best chances: Dafoe is probably the current front runner for best supporting actor.
